Garden Cottage
Garden Cottage, has a secluded setting, and is perfectly located for a variety of walks in the Achnashellach area including several Munros. The cottage is set in a stunning position at the foot of the mountain ‘Fuar Tholl’ in a mature garden.
Garden Cottage underwent a complete renovation in 2003 and has been refurbished to a high standard with under-floor heating, oak floors and an air filtering system. This is a comfortably modern cottage which retains its original character and has the feel of a family home. Most of the rooms in the house are sunny and south facing. The sitting room has a wood burning stove a new corner sofa, two armchairs, a video and DVD player with a small library for both completing the furnishings. Free-view satellite TV and Wifi are available.
The kitchen is well equipped with ample new pans and china, a gas hob and an electric oven/grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, radio/cassette/CD player, and washing machine there is a drying room adjacent which has an ironing board, iron and drying rail.
The dining room off the kitchen has an antique dresser, window seat and oval dining table.
Also next to the kitchen, is a light study, which has french windows overlooking the garden.
Upstairs there is one twin bed room, and one bedroom with a king size bed, both have wonderful views over the garden and mountains, both have wardrobes and a chest of drawers. Both bedrooms can accommodate a cot (which we can supply). The duvets and pillows are hypo-allergenic. Bed linen and towels are included, and the bed linen is changed weekly if your stay is longer than 7 nights.
The bathroom is spacious and has a toilet, washbasin and a powerful hydrostatic shower over the deep bath.
The heating system is very effective and there is always plenty of hot water.
The immediate garden around the cottage is for the use of the guests and garden furniture is provided. The garden is full of wildlife and it is not unusual to see an otter or deer. Garden Cottage is a few hundred yards away from the Lair River, which has a waterfall near to the cottage. This is not in the grounds of the cottage but there is no fencing so parents need to be aware of this if they bring their children. A dog is allowed with prior agreement, but must be kept off the furniture and not left alone in the property.

The following rooms are only made available when the whole cottage is booked. In this way smaller parties are not paying for rooms they are not using.
(We do not hire these additional rooms separately, or to another party should you choose not to hire the whole house).
The charges for hiring the whole house
sleeping up to 7 people are:
Winter - £600, Low £650,
Mid £680, High £700,
New Year £800.
A second lounge and dining room which is spacious yet cosy with the underfloor heating and the option of the open fire.
A second bathroom this is a very large bathroom, the under floor heating means this is a room you will want to linger in.
A family (downstairs) bedroom with 3 single beds which has direct access to the second bathroom ideal for those whole like their privacy. Located off the larger lounge it feels separated from the hustle and bustle of the kitchen area this bedroom and bathroom allow you to relax and wake at your own pace.
The famous West Highland Railway is runs through the nearby Achnashellach station. The scenery on the journey to the coast at Kyle is spectacular and it is well worth a trip. Why not stop at Plockton, which offers many attractions and good restaurants.
