How to find us.

Lochcarron lies on the A896 about 65 miles due west of Inverness, and as you look at the UK map, Lochcarron is on the mainland opposite the Isle of Skye.

By car Lochcarron is 4 to 5 hours drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow.

The fast route is up the A9 through Athol and the Cairngorm Mountains
to Inverness then across country on the A835 and A832 through to Achnasheen with the final 23 miles on the A890 clearly signed.

The scenic route, which may be only a little slower, follows the west coast on the A82 through Glencoe and Fort William to Invergarry then over spectacular Kintail on the A87 to join the A890, again clearly signed to Lochcarron.

Lochcarron is also served by rail connections from Inverness on the famous Kyle line, one of Britain's most scenic railways. Strathcarron station is about three miles from Lochcarron village. Inverness can be reached by overnight sleeper from London Euston, arriving in Inverness at 08.37 with ten minutes to spare to cross the platform to the Kyle of Lochalsh train. We can arrange a taxi to meet you at the station, or car hire is available from the local garage.

How to find the cottages:

On entering the village going west, the school is on
the right and the sea on the left this is Main Street.

Roisin Dhu (IV54 8UQ) take the first right after the primary school, go to T junction at the top of this road, take the right at the T junction, Roisin Dhu is the 3rd house on the right. 26 Kirkton Gardens.

Hawthorndene (IV54 8YB) follow the main street with the sea on your left, pass both the Lochcarron Garage and the Lochcarron Hotel. Pass the butchers and Hawthorndene is a few doors further along.

Seabank (IV54 8YD) - follow Main Street as far as Waterside
Café, Seabank is opposite.

Tor Fionn (IV54 8YD)– follow Main Street past Seabank
another dozen houses Tor Fionn is on your right, pass one more house and you will have reached Primrose Cottage. (IV54 8YD)

Garve Cottage and Moriston Cottage (IV54 8YD)  – Pass
Waterside Cafe and go on until you reach the Church of Scotland on your
left, Garve Cottage and Moriston Cottage are opposite the church.

Shellach - (IV54 8YP) Go to the end of Main Street, pass the
Bank of Scotland / Halifax, take the 2nd left onto Church Street
Shellach is the 6th Cottage.

Garden Cottage, (IV54 8YU) Achnashellach. On the A890 Achnasheen to Lochcarron road. Take the first left off the roundabout at Achnasheen to Lochcarron. When you reach the end of the double track and come to the beginning of the single track road ( approx 12 miles from Achnasheen. Look out for the Red Telephone Kiosk, and take this track on the right, for a few yards until you reach the first bend, go through the gates and around the corner of the building and you have reached Garden Cottage, Achnashellach.
